Long Long Overdue

Hi everyone it has been 10 weeks since my surgery and I am doing great. I am walking 3 miles almost everyday, and lifting light weights. I rode my bike 6 miles twice now and expect to get to 10 miles real soon. Two Monday's ago I went to play golf with our friends Larry and Pam and I was not expecting a lot. On the first hole I had a seven because I was afraid to hit the ground and I was swinging real easy. After a couple of holes I started hitting better and at the end I had 8 pars and shot a 86. The sad thing was Pam took advantage of my illness and whooped my butt, she had a 82 Larry felt sorry for me and let me win THANKS Larry. I started playing again on Wednesdays with the guys from the Tempe Elks.

I have changed my whole diet and have lost 25 lbs since surgery. The one great thing that came out of my surgery is my son Joe came and stayed with us for a week to help us out and that was wonderful having him here. Before Tony had his operation and I was in intensive care Tony took Joey to see some sights of the mountains and desert.

On the 16th. of March Buffy and I went to Laughlin NV and stayed at Harrahs Casino for three days. We had a great time with Buffy's family Donna and Michell and her husband Emil they are Buffy's nieces. I taught her niece Michell to LOVE Guinness. She and I sat on the beach and had one .......OK two .......OK three OK who was counting. The guy in the middle is not with us. We are playing video blackjack, it was a great game and I spent a lot of time here.

Our great friends Bob and Rachel came to visit and we had a wonderful time. It has been one and a halve years since we have seen them. It was fun showing them some of the sights around here. One day we went to Florence AZ to visit a Greek Monastery and it was one of the prettiest places we have ever visited. The monks take care of the grounds and are not allowed to talk to us.

Guys had to have on long pants and long sleeves. I am sure glad it was cool this day I would have hated to see the way they would dress us. The women had to have on long dresses and babushkas CHECK OUT THE HOT MAMAS.

That afternoon we went to the Casa Grande Ruins they are thousands of years old. They date back to the early 1200s. They were abandoned in the 1400s. The roof was built to help preserve the ruins in 1932.

We also met with our friends Gary and Gene S. They showed us their new house and then we went to a golf course for lunch. We had a great time with lots of laughs.

Buffy went to the doctor 3 Monday's ago and they started her on chemo again. She has not had to have any since last November and this is a preventative type of treatment. The doctor said everything is looking good but had some funny blood readings. Since we are leaving here soon and heading home he wanted to start her now hoping it will be good till we get back here next October. This last week the chemo made Buffy nauseous and we hope it will not last long.

As you heard before my good friend Tony had the same operation as I.
Here you see our heart pillows that we carried around for weeks. Every time we sneezed or coughed we had to put the pillow to our chest and hold on tight to help with pain. He is doing good also, and is on his way home. He and Cathy parked there rig in the Florida Keys and headed home. The only good thing about Tony being gone from here is that I am able to get something done.
It is starting to look like a ghost town around here since everyone is packing up and heading out. We plan to leave here May 11th and be home around the 29th.
