Red Canyon UT

I had to get these pictures online ASAP. They are the best and prettiest pictures that I have ever taken. The place is Red Canyon about 10 miles outside of Bryce canyon. I hope you enjoy them and remember to click on them they will or should expand.







We went for a ride and found some really neat things. In this area the leaves are changing colors and that made for some great pictures.



We then found some lava fields. They go on for miles and miles.




Yep we did some off road driving. We were on some ATV roads and got some really great pictures. The pictures below are lava fields that go on for miles.



I had to get these online for you to enjoy. We are now heading to Arches and Canyonland National Parks. I will update again soon.

Heading back to AZ

Well we did it again. After leaving Portland OR we stopped on Thursday for a two night stay in Pendleton OR and found out that this was the week for their annual rodeo. They close the schools on Wednesday for this event. We stayed at the Elks Lodge and next to the lodge we were told they were serving breakfast outdoors with a band starting @ 6am. All the roads were going to be closed till after the parade. We heard trucks in and out all night long, people coming and going so Buffy and I got no sleep at all. I arose at 6am, got dressed and went to breakfast then Buffy and I went to the parade.



The line for breakfast was like this from 6am till 9:30. The band played the whole time and this was planned for Saturday and Sunday also.
It was a wonderful parade and there were no motorized vehicles allowed.




They found BIGFOOT




After the parade everyone in town left the area to go to the other end of town for the rodeo so we packed up and escaped the area. We made a couple of stops before arriving at our new home for the next few days. How do you like our back yard today?????

The columns that you are looking at are called Hoodoos. A Hoodoo is a tall thin spire of rock that protrudes from the bottom of an arid drainage basin or badland. Hoodoos are composed of soft sedimentary rock and are topped by a piece of harder, less easily eroded stone that protects the column from the elements.

Here are a couple of pictures from our rig so I guess you could say this is our back yard.





Some of you know who this is and some of you do not. This is my buddy Molson, he and I became close friends in Apache Junction AZ last year. He and his mommy Fran are staying here in Bryce Canyon and we came here to visit them also.







We went for a walk in our backyard. Molson wanted to show me around his play ground. He likes to chase the antelope and loves his freedom.








After yesterday's trip up the canyon Buffy was tired and wanted to stay by the rig and get some rest. Going and going sometimes tires her out so the next day Fran showed me around some areas that I would not have known about. Today was a slow day I only took 150 pictures.

I thought this looked liked someone kneeling down kissing the ground or trying to ger a drink of water.

We found an old abanded ranch and stopped and looked around.






We found this slot canyon it was not real big but it was beautiful.

THE NEXT WEEK AND 1/2 WE WILL BE STOPPING IN SEVERAL NATIONAL PARKS SO I WILL BE UPDATING A COUPLE OF TIMES ALONG THE WAY. I WISH I COULD SHARE ALL THE PICTURES WITH EVERYONE BUT THAT WOULD JUST BORE YOU.
