Washington

Well we had a wonderful time in Washington the last few weeks. Our next stop took us to Sequim WA., the average about 22 inches of rain a year. When we arrived I went into the Elks Lodge and was talking to the members and explained that I tend to bring the worst weather possible they said they would love it if it rained well guess what it did for three solid days I think they got all 22 inches. But we did get to do some great sight seeing.


When it cleared up a bit we could see snow on the Olympic Mountains from the lodge.

One day it was raining cats and dogs but we took a ride to the most furthest Northwest part of the continental United States to a place called Neah Bay. When we got there the sun came out. Neah Bay is on the Makah Indian Reservation. On the way back home it rained almost all the way.







On the way back home we stopped for lunch at the Crescent Lake Lodge. It is a very warm and comfortable place. They had a fire going near our table, it was relaxing after our long drive.





The next day it cleared up a bit and we took a ride on Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic National Park. We saw lots of deer and the scenery was beautiful.





There are some neat towns around Sequim. There is Port Townsend & Port Angeles, here are some picks of them.







Then off to Forks WA

Forks, Washington was never known for its tourist industry. Yet it has been transformed from a quiet little northwestern community to a popular destination for those who love the romance and intrigue of the Twilight book series. Residents of Forks are astonished to see the number of visitors grow each year and their once quiet little town now alive with new faces and excitement.

Forks is in the Olympic Peninsula on the northwestern corner of the state of Washington. A few experienced travelers knew about this enchanted area with its mystical forests and nearby beaches but author Stephenie Meyer brought it to the attention of her readers when she began to tell spellbinding stories about teens and their families living in the area. Now, Forks is a top destination for many who would never have known to explore the region.

We are now heading back to Portland OR. for Buffy to have another chemo treatment. But we had to stop in a small town called Hoquiam WA. We stayed at the Elks Lodge and when we woke up the streets were closed and the parking lot was filling up. It is the annual lumberjacks play day so stuck we were. The parade they had was 2 hrs long and it was a whole day of partying. The first few pictures were taken around 7:30 am. yep the roads were closed already.
